Welcome
Welcome to the Taranaki Triathlon Club where a series of duathlons and triathlons for all abilities is held from October through to April. The committee has planned the 2010//2011 season and events are listed below. When choosing the dates we try to fit them around races like the Contact Triathlon Series and some of our local events like the Olex running series and swimming's Flannagan Cup. It's not always possible to get the dates we wish and there will be the odd clash as there is always plenty on. Sometimes too, our events cannot be held on our first choice date because the venue is being used by another organisation. We had one such clash when planning the new season's races. The events for 2010/2011 are as follows: Saturday November 6 2pm Lepperton Duathlons Sunday November 28 9am Inglewood Triathlons and Duathlons Saturday 18 December 2pm Ratapiko Triathlons and Duathlons Sunday 16 January 9am Ngamotu Triathlons and Duathlons Sunday 20 February 9am Ngamotu Triathlons and Duathlons Sunday 20 March 8 am Ngamotu Club Tri Champs as well as duathlons and the Secondary School Triathlon Saturday 16 April 2pm Duathlon Champs Lepperton Newsletter Members should have the latest newsletter and many thanks to Peter Crawford for compiling it regularly over the season. Congratulations too to Peter and Anna who celebrated their wedding recently in Rarotonga. Just in case you missed the latest news here is a summary: The AGM This years AGM is on Thursday 14 October in the Fitzroy Surf Club at 7.30 pm Please come along and hear how the club has been going and offer any suggestions. And if you think you might like to be on the committee, so much the better. Traffic planning and management Anyone interested in learning the tricks of the trade in this role, please let us know. We have a great traffic manager but it's always handy to have one waiting on the bench or even assisting. We can help with training. So far we have been very lucky and haven't had to employ outside contractors which helps keep club fees down. Promo outlets We'll be publishing flyers and posters to promote the coming season of racing so if you know of an outlet where we can drop some flyers, give us a call. Big events The World Triathlon Final comes to Auckland in 2012 and a race in the Contact women's series will be held on our Ngamotu course in the coming season. Enjoy your training and stay safe!
